One of our favorite restaurants is Big Wave Cafe. They are located in the front corner of the Longs Shopping Center in mid-Kihei on Kihei Rd. Award winning chef/owner Raul Bermudez has a prepared a great menu using only the freshest Maui-grown vegetables, fruits and local seafood. Big Wave Cafe features some of the most innovative dishes at some of the most affordable prices in town.

While breakfast and lunch are good, it’s the dinner we really like. We’ve been meeting visitors, guests, family and friends there for dinner for 3 years. Between 5:00 – 6:30pm, dinners are 2 for 1. And the dinners are top notch with flavors and presentation you’d expect to find at the big resorts. Try the Grilled Fresh Catch – with Warm chopped Tomatoes, Fresh Garden Herbs and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Mashed Potato and Vegetable; Roasted Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi with Jasmine Rice, Vegetable, Passion Fruit Sauce and Mango Salsa; or the Banana Crusted Chicken. And for desert, you’ve got to try the Pineapple Creme Brulee. It is so good you may order two. You’ll likely go back to Big Wave Cafe more than once!

One tip – get there between 5:00 and 5:15 pm and sit outside. It gets crowded afterwards. Eating this early will also give you time to head back to a beach for sunset stroll!!!
